Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

We are pleased to present to you this year's Annual Quality Water Report. This report is designed to inform you about the quality water and services we deliver to you every day. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your water. Our water sources are: Well # 3 (Rest Stop) at a depth of 240 feet, Well # 4 (Irving Avenue) at a depth of 210 feet, Well # 5 (Crisfield Lane) at a depth of 210 feet, Well # 6 (Abbey Lane) at a depth of 191 feet, Well # 7 (Industrial Park) at a depth of 240 feet Well # 10 (Hawk Lane) at a depth of 194 feet, Well # 8 (Ridge Road) at a depth of 191 feet, 6 inches and We11 #11 (Loretto Road) at a depth of 240 feet. These wells draw from the Manokin Aquifer, which is treated and pumped into our water distribution system. Well # 9 (Washington High) is 1,470 feet deep and draws from the Patapsco Aquifer.

A business guide to Princess Anne is now being prepared with funding provided by the Town of Princess Anne and a grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.

This guide, due to be released by 4/30/15, is a resource for both new and existing businesses. It will contain useful information on how to do business in the Town. Copies will be available from the Town office at 30489 Broad St. (410-651-1818) or from the Princess Anne Main Street Manager, Valerie Mann (410-546-3801).

Renovation Work has Started on the Washington Hotel in Downtown Princess Anne!

Allen and Shariff, of Columbia, MD, has started the renovation work on the Washington Hotel at 11784 Somerset Ave. in downtown Princess Anne.

The hotel, when it opens, will have guest rooms, a bar, and a restaurant. It will be operated by Ian Fleming of Fleming Homestead, who also owns the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford, MD.

The hotel is expected to be the anchor of Princess Anne's downtown revitalization efforts. The Town has been fortunate enough to have been the recipient of several state and federal grants which, coupled with private investment, has made this project possible.

Position Announcement - Town Manager of Princess Anne


An opportunity exists for an individual to serve as Town manager of Princess Anne. The Town Manager is responsible for the operation and management of the town office, which has an annual budget of approximately $3.3 million and a staff of about 24. Staff includes the Police Department, Public Works Department, Code Enforcement Officer, Office Manager, Executive Assistant, and Office Assistant. Additional duties include grant writing, budgeting, personnel, and special projects. Princess Anne has one of the most energetic, experienced, and successful police departments in the area, with a proactive community-policing program. The Town manager works at the discretion of five elected Town Commissioners. The Town Office is opened 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Grand opening for Princess Anne’s new kayak rental business
“Paddle the Manokin,”


Princess Anne, MD, August 25th - The grand opening for Princess Anne’s new kayak rental business “Paddle the Manokin,” is set for Saturday, September 14th from 11-2pm. The event will feature free kayak rentals, hot dogs, ice cream, and lemonade.

Situated in the Election House in Manokin Park, Paddle the Manokin will be open every Saturday from 9am to 4pm and by appointment through the end of October, or until the water is too cold.
